Several work zones will once again slow down Metro trains over the weekend, with the Red line once again being a place where riders can expect significant delays.
Red line trains will single track in two places starting at 10 p.m. Friday. Those zones include between Shady Grove and Twinbrook and between Rhode Island Avenue and Takoma.
Trains will operate every 24 minutes through the entire line and every 12 minutes between the Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet stations between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Other single tracking spots on Metro's four other lines will include:
the Orange line between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly and between West and East Falls Church
the Green/Yellow line between Mt. Vernon Square and U Street
Track work is scheduled to wrap up by midnight Sunday.
