U.S. Airways flight detained at Boston Logan International Airport

A U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia to Boston's Logan International Airport was briefly detained Tuesday to inspect suspicious baggage, airport officials say.

The flight, reportedly identified as U.S. Airways flight 1716, was parked away from a terminal at Logan while a bag on board was examined, airport officials say.

The bag was not found to be a threat. Passengers on the plane were taken to the terminal.

The city of Boston has been in a state of heightened alert after Monday's bombing of the Boston Marathon.

It was one of two security incidents at East Coast airports on Tuesday. A terminal at LaGuardia International Airport was briefly evacuated Tuesday morning after a suspicious bag was found inside a phone booth.
