A fiery crash involving a stranded car and a tractor trailer caused major delays on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway early Friday morning.
The crash happened at about 5 a.m. on the ramp to Route 1 from the inner loop, officials say. Authorities believe that the semi truck struck an unattended vehicle parked on the shoulder.
The crash caused the truck to become engulfed in flames.
No one was hurt, officials say, but the ramp to Route 1 was closed for a significant portion of the morning commute. All lanes of the inner loop reopened just after 8 a.m., but the investigation continues to block a portion of the ramp.
