(WJLA) - WMATA is giving an early warning to commuters for the first weekend of October - if your plans take you downtown, do not take the Red line.

Red line will be suspended between Dupont Circle and NoMa-Gallaudet starting on the night of Oct. 4. The stations affected will not reopen until Monday morning.

That means that Red line service will be suspended at Farragut North, Metro Center, Gallery Place, Judiciary Square and Union Station.

Gallery Place will remain open for Green and Yellow line trains and Metro Center will still serve Blue and Orange line riders.

Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Dupont Circle and NoMa-Gallaudet throughout the closure. Trains will operate in two sections - between Shady Grove and Dupont Circle and between Glenmont and NoMa-Gallaudet.
