Four Metro stations will completely shut down for portions of the long Labor Day weekend starting Friday night as part of three days of track and station work.
The Silver Spring, Takoma and Brookland stations on the Red Line will be shut down for the entire weekend, Metro says, while Greenbelt station will be closed Saturday and Sunday. Only Green and Yellow line trains will service Fort Totten as well.
Shuttle buses will replace trains on the Red line between Forest Glen and Rhode Island Avenue for the duration of the closure.
In addition to the station closures, Orange line trains will only operate every 24 minutes due to work at the Deanwood, Minnesota Avenue, Stadium-Armory and Cheverly stations.
Regular weekend service will be available on the Blue and Yellow lines.
