Metro's website and platform train displays were among the agency's systems that were affected by a problem with its internal computer network throughout Thursday morning, officials say.
Rail service and safety was not affected by the outage, WMATA officials say. However, WMATA.com, displays within Metro stations and the agency's customer information call center were all among services that went down.
Metro Transit Police's emergency line was also inaccessible to callers for a period during the morning as well. Service to their phone line was restored just after 11 a.m.
The rest of the agency's services, including its website, call center and NextBus, were restored just before noon.
