Labor Day weekend Metro delays will affect Orange, Blue lines
Major track work on the Orange and Blue lines of Metro will cause delays starting Friday night and lasting through the long Labor Day weekend.
In some places, buses will replace trains, and in others, stations will be completely shut down for track work to be completed.
On the Orange line, buses will replace trains between East and West Falls Church starting at 8 p.m. Friday. Trains will only operate every 24 minutes between Vienna and West Falls Church and share one track. Customers should add 30 minutes to their travel time.
The Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield stations on the Blue line will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday while track switches are installed between Van Dorn Street and King Street. All Blue line trains will originate and terminate at Huntington, and they'll operate every 20 minutes.
Shuttle buses will run between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn and Eisenhower Avenue.
