An irate passenger at Dulles who was caught on video yelling obscenities and striking a pilot was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with simple assault and public intoxication.
A video of the entire incident was posted on Liveleak.com.
In the video, Donald Gee, 53, is seen berating a pilot about his delayed flight to Philadelphia. When the pilot tells him the flight is grounded, Gee continues to curse at him and eventually strikes him. He was taken down and restrained until police arrived.
Charles Hobart, spokesperson for United Airlines, released the following statement:
"Violence against our employees is unacceptable and we will review this closely. We are fully cooperating with authorities and do not have further comment at this time."
It's been a nerve-fraying week for flyers.
On Monday, Daniel Perry was arrested after allegedly disrupting his United flight from Hong Kong to Newark, screaming he'd been poisoned. Last Friday, a man on a Frontier flight claimed to have a bomb, and an Egypt Air flight en route to New York made an emergency landing after a threatening note was discovered in a bathroom over the weekend.
Gee, who is from Philadelphia, is being held on $2,500 bond.
