Mass transit commuters and serial Google Maps users are now able to use the platform to make their way around the D.C. area.
As reported by Greater Greater Washington, WMATA and Google will make a joint announcement Thursday on technology improvements that will benefit Metro riders.
Presumably, they'll announce the addition of Metrorail and Metrobus routing data to Google Maps.
Riders can now obtain point-to-point directions through Google through Metro's rail and bus routes in addition to their standard driving, walking and biking directions.
Metro joins MARC, MTA, DC Circulator and RideOn as regional mass transit carriers that are included by Google Maps.
