HAZMAT crews are on the scene of an overturned fuel truck in Prince William County. It happened late Thursday night near the Braemar Village Plaza in Bristow.

Authorities say about 7,500 gallons of fuel were spilled. About 1,000 gallons were recovered. The truck was delivering fuel to a Safeway station at the plaza and is operated by Hahn Transportation of New Market, Md.

Resident in nearby neighborhoods had been told to stay inside overnight. Many said there was a strong odor of gasoline. This morning, those leaving on Merrimont Trace Circle and Manor Hall Court can now make a right turn only onto Sudley Manor Drive.

Authorities evacuated people from the plaza immediately after the spill.
