A pair of pilots at the helm of a flight in Great Britain fell asleep at the same time while flying last month, according to a report obtained by the Guardian.

The report indicates that both the pilot and co-pilot with an unidentified British airline had only slept five hours each over the previous two nights before taking on a flight this past Aug. 13.

British aviation officials tell the Guardian that the incident was isolated and that they don't know why both pilots were operating on such little rest.

"They were taking it in turn to have rest periods, with the one always checking the autopilot and it looks as if both fell asleep at the same time," a British aviation spokesman told the newspaper.

The plane was on autopilot when both pilots dozed off, the report says.
