(WJLA) - Extreme cold and wire problems are causing major delays along Amtrak's Northeast Corridor again Tuesday.
Both Acela Express and Northeast Regional service are operating on a modified schedule between Boston and Washington because of the frigid temperatures. Coupled with problems with wires near Trenton, N.J., large delays are being reported between Washington and New York City.
The delays come a day after trains were held up for as long as two hours between Baltimore and Philadelphia. because of overhead wire issues near Wilmington, Del. It's also compounding massive flight cancellations and delays at airports throughout the Midwest and East Coast.
Amtrak doesn't have an estimated time for full service restoration.
