'Parks and Recreation' shows some D.C. Metro love
Did anyone notice the D.C. Metro shout-out on a recent episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation?
Not by name but by design. Check out the extravagant shirt worn by the character of Jerry Gergich and look carefully. See where he's pointing? None other than the D.C. Metro map. He wore this shirt on the Feb. 23 episode "Sweet Sixteen," devoted to Jerry's birthday. The character's wife Gayle gave him this item of clothing as a gift.
When he strolls into the office, WMATA emblazoned across his torso, his coworkers immediately are repelled. "Ridiculous," character Tom Haverford says in disgust.
WMATA just can't win, even in the fictional town of Pawnee.
