Connect With Kimberly Suiters

Nothing fires up Kimberly Suiters like injustice. If it's unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent, Ms. Suiters wants to expose it to keep anyone else from getting hurt financially or physically. As the Emmy-award winning Consumer Investigator for the #7OnYourSide team and weekend evening anchor, Ms. Suiters advocates for consumers, holds the powerful accountable, and sets right what has gone wrong.

Ms. Suiters joined ABC7/WJLA-TV in 2011, but she started her consumer-investigative career as the chief intern under WRC-TV's Lea Thompson, and later worked undercover on a travel scam investigation for two years with Thompson at Dateline NBC. Ms. Suiters also anchored the weekend morning news at NBC4 for several years. #wakingupat2AMhurts

Although she considers herself a lifelong Washingtonian, Ms. Suiters worked as a reporter in South Carolina where she exposed secret city council development deals and in Oklahoma City where her investigation of a headmaster led to the closure of a school. She wrote two books borne of her reporting on a crime victim (A Random Act, Harper Collins) and a tornado survivor (Twist of Faith, Tate). Ms. Suiters chased a few tornadoes, taught journalism at the University of Oklahoma, and her star student is now a TV meteorologist in Richmond. #boomersooner

Ms. Suiters' feature reports can be heard periodically on CBS Radio's Washington station, 99.1 WNEW-FM. She was part of the on-air team that earned Edward R. Murrow Awards for Overall Excellence 2014 and Best Newscast 2013.

An active member of the #MizzouMafia, Ms. Suiters earned a master's degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She also graduated from Bucknell University as a news radio host for WVBU, a left-winger for the Women's Soccer team, and a Phi Beta Kappa scholar. But her first-ever investigative report about a historic home was assigned by Langley High School AP History teacher, Ms. Mcdiarmid. #SaxonStrong
