The Washington Redskins' quarterback of the future - and possibly of the present - is officially under contract.

Robert Griffin III, the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner and the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, signed with the team on Wednesday morning. The Redskins did not disclose terms of the deal, but{} NFL.com's Albert Breer reports that Griffin's rookie contract is a 4-year deal worth just less than $21.2 million.

The contract is fully guaranteed, Breer says.

"It's time to go to work!!!" Griffin III tweeted Wednesday morning, adding the franchise's trademark "HTTR" (Hail to the Redskins) tag.

The team also Tweeted a photo of Griffin signing his contract on Wednesday. The contract also includes an option for a fifth year, Breer says.

With his signing, Griffin became the highest of the picks in the 2012 Draft to sign his rookie contract. The top pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, has yet to sign a deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

Redskins training camp is set to officially begin on July 26.

As a redshirt junior with Baylor in 2011, Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy while putting up video game-like stats for the 10-3 Bears, including leading the team to an Alamo Bowl victory.

In 13 games for Baylor last season, Griffin threw for 4,293 yards and 37 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He also posted a pass completion percentage of 72.7 percent.
