Redskins waiting for Brandon 'Mario Brothers' Meriweather

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The Washington Redskins are still waiting on Brandon Meriweather.

The oft-injured safety is back at practice this week, and the team is hopeful he can play in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Teammate Barry Cofield said Meriweather played like someone from "Mario Brothers" during one game last year. But Meriweather missed the other 15 with knee injuries and this year's opener with a strained groin.

The Redskins started E.J. Biggers at safety in the 33-27 loss to the Eagles, even though Biggers hadn't played the position since high school.
