Report: Redskins QB Kirk Cousins asks owner Dan Snyder for trade

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins has asked owner Dan Snyder for a trade without a long-term deal Thursday, according to ESPN.

ESPN reports Snyder informed Cousins he should not expect a trade, and the signal-caller is prevented from negotiating with other teams under the exclusive franchise tag he received in Feb. 2017.

In 2016, Cousins received the nonexclusive franchise tag costing the team $19.953 million, according to ESPN.
