The daughter of former Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke was arrested Wednesday following a New Year’s Eve altercation that is being probed as a possible hate crime attack.

Jacqueline Kent Cooke, a 29-year-old New York socialite, has been charged with felony second-degree assault, according to the Washington Post.

The New York Daily News reports that Cooke hit 52-year-old San Francisco Bay Area lawyer Matthew Haberkorn with her glass clutch and called him an anti-Semitic remark outside of a Manhattan restaurant this past Sunday.

Cooke allegedly told Haberkorn to “Hurry up, Jew,” then later hit him with the purse in a situation that carried over outside the restaurant, the Daily News reported. She reportedly was impatient while waiting behind Haberkorn and his family in the coat check line at the restaurant, leading to the incident.

Video apparently showing the altercation outside the restaurant was shared with the Daily News. The paper also shared a photo of a bloodied Haberkorn.

The incident took place just before midnight at Caravaggio, a high-end Italian restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, according to the Washington Post.

The Daily News reports Cooke appeared in Manhattan court for her arraignment Thursday, where it was announced by prosecutors that the incident was being investigated as a possible hate crime.

Jack Kent Cooke became majority owner of the Redskins in 1974, then sole owner in 1985. The team was sold to current owner Daniel Snyder following his death in 1997.
