The Capitals won Saturday night and they hosted the best moment of the game – when no action was happening on the ice.

During a break in the game, James Stanley of the United States Navy surprised his family by jumping out of a makeshift present set up by the Capitals.

While Stanley’s wife was in on the surprise reunion, his three daughters – ages 9, 7 and 2 – did not know in advance that their father would be there.

As you might expect, it was a touching moment.

According to ABC7’s Q McCray, who spoke with the family afterward, the daughters thought they were at the game to only watch a holiday greeting video from Stanley, who has been deployed overseas in Djibouti, a country in East Africa that borders the Gulf of Aden.

The Capitals beat the Anaheim Ducks, 3-2, in overtime thanks to an Alex Ovechkin goal in overtime.
