Toyota Team Player: Emily Klingaman
"It was a situation a lot of kids dream about being in," said Emily Klingaman.
Emily Klingaman has a knack for being clutch.
"I kind of don't even remember running the bases," she said.
In dramatic fashion, Emily hit a walk-off homer to lift the Madison Warhawks over Osbourn Park to win its first state softball title since 1989.
"I'm so happy I could win for my team and help them win it," Emily said.
"I was exciting," said Madison head coach Jim Adkins. "We knew we were at a point in the game, with the game on the line, Emily was certainly our lead-off hitter and one of our best hitters all season in clutch situations.
speaking of clutch situation, Emily also hit a walk off home run in the previous game at Regionals against the same team Osbourn park, who oh by the way, Madison lost to in the state championship game last year.
"We knew she could step up in big occasions," said Adkins.
"I worked really hard this season, so it was so nice personally to see my hard work come through," said Emily.
Congratulations Emily Klingaman you are this week's Toyota Team Player.
