Toyota Team Player: DJ Harvey

DJ Harvey: Toyota Team Player (ABC7)

Four star DeMatha Catholic High School senior DJ Harvey is the top player in Maryland and considered one of the top 50 players in the 2017 class.

Recently, Harvey who was recruited by Alabama, Texas and Connecticut, chose to commit to Notre Dame.

Harvey says he choose Notre Dame because of Coach Mike Brey’s ties to DeMatha.

Brey, is a DeMatha grad and former assistant coach under the legendary Morgan Wootten.

Harvey says it was Brey's support that swayed him to pick Notre Dame over about 20 other schools.

Current DeMatha Head Coach Mike Jones says Harvey is one of the hardest workers the Stags have had.

"Since day one when he got here, he was one of the guys always asked about getting in the gym," said Jones.

It’s that hard work that has earned DJ Harvey this week’s Toyota Team Player.
