Maryland Pride uniforms to be worn by Terrapins on Saturday
(WJLA) - For the second straight year, the Maryland Terrapins will show their state pride in all its black, red, gold and white glory.
The Terrapins and Under Armour rolled out the 2013 version of its Maryland Pride uniforms on Thursday, which the team will wear Saturday when they host the West Virginia Mountaineers at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
Maryland will don red uniforms with images of the two crests on the Free State's flag on each shoulder, representing the iconic coats of arms of the Calvert and Crossland families.
What more, each helmet worn by Terrapin players will bear a hand-painted state flag design. No two helmets are the same, Under Armour officials say, and are numbered 1-200.
In 2011, the Terrapins rolled out the first version of their Maryland Pride uniforms in a season-opening win over the Miami Hurricanes.
