John Carlson named to 2014 United States Olympic hockey roster

(WJLA) - The United States Olympic hockey team will be have some Washington Capitals representation in 2014.

Defenseman John Carlson was named Wednesday to America's Olympic hockey roster, marking his first appearance in the games.

The Natick, Mass. native has spent his entire four-year career with the Capitals, scoring 30 goals and 112 points in 274 career games.

On the international stage, Carlson is best known for scoring the game-winning goal for the Americans in the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship.
