The Grand Prix of Baltimore will not go on in 2014 or 2015 after organizers and the city could not agree on dates for the annual race, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.

The Business Journal's Gary Haber reports that despite a 16 percent increase in attendance from 2012 to 2013, the city and those behind the Grand Prix could not come to a consensus on when the race should be held over the next two years.

"The calendar conspired against us," Baltimore businessman JP Grant, who helped fund the race, said, according to the Baltimore Sun.

About 152,000 race fans attended events throughout the Grand Prix weekend, which the Business Journal reports generated $131 million over the past three years.
