(WJLA) - Ed Reed's tenure with the Houston Texans, in the end, will have only lasted 7 games.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans are releasing Reed, the free safety who spent his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens before this season.
Reed, who had arthroscopic hip surgery before joining Houston before the 2013 season, made only 16 tackles in his short time with the Texans. Before that, he was a standout defender for the Ravens who helped the team win last season's Super Bowl.
He signed a three-year contract worth $15 million with Houston this past offseason.
