NBA superstar Kevin Durant has donated nearly $60,000 for new outdoor basketball courts at the Seat Pleasant Activity Center. A ceremony to unveil the new courts took place Monday afternoon in Seat Pleasant, Maryland.

Durant's mother Wanda and local government leaders spoke at the ceremony, according to a release from Prince George's County Parks and Recreation.

The Washington, D.C. native developed his game on these same courts at the M-NCPPC, Dept. of Parks and Recreation, Seat Pleasant Activity Center. Durant would sleep behind the curtain in the gym because he wanted to spend extra time playing basketball and didn't want to go home, the release states.

Durant's charity foundation and Nike worked together to revamp the outdoor basketball courts at the center after preliminary discussions for the project started in April 2016, the release adds.
