U.S. Olympic teams: Upsets and victories

      It was back into the pool for America's men and womenand with it came a lot of gold.

      Seventeen year-old Missy Franklin captured her first top medal in the 100 backstroke, as did Matt Greverswho set a new Olympic record for the men.

      Grevers' teammate Nick Thoman won silver. But, in the 200 freestyle, favorite Ryan Lochte was left disappointed finishing fourth and medal-less.

      For team USA, a medal of any color was just not in the cards for the men's gymnastics squad. Defending champion China captured the gold.

      On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed a delegation of Windsor's as the queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips, continued her bid for Olympic success. Phillips completed the difficult and dangerous portion of the equestrian event "in very good time."

      American tennis royalty had no problem advancing in their respective rounds. Venus Williams began her bid for a record fourth Olympic goldsister Serena also advanced.

      In men's play, American Andy Roddick moved forward--as did John Isner. Wimbledon champ Roger Federer had no problem advancing as well.
