LANDOVER, Md. (WJLA) - Outside FedEx Field, the fanfare got underway early Monday morning. In their Redskins-themed jeep, season ticket holders Chris and Christie Lopez pulled into the parking lot ready to tailgate, more than 12 hours before kickoff.
"We got up at four, left the house by five and got here by six," said Christie.
Mike Justice, a lifelong fan who now lives in Dubai, planned his vacation around the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"RG3 is back, division rival, season opener Monday night," explained Justice, "As a Redskins fan, where else to be?"
These fans say they can't wait to get inside the stadium for what will no doubt be a big game for the burgundy and gold.
"I've already got my Halls because I don't expect to have a voice tomorrow," said Christie Lopez.
The gates at FedEx Field open at 3 p.m.
