Redskins vs. Broncos: Reed Doughty, Fred Davis out for Denver game

ASHBURN, Va. (AP/WJLA) - The Washington Redskins have ruled out safety Reed Doughty for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos because of lingering effects of a concussion.

The Redskins said Saturday that Doughty did not make the trip with the team to Denver.

Tight end Fred Davis is also among the inactives.

Doughty was injured in last week's win over Chicago. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but did not practice on Friday.

Doughty's absence leaves the Redskins without both starting safeties as they face Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Brandon Meriweather was suspended one game by the NFL for helmet-to-helmet hits against the Bears.
