Washington Redskins training camp: Richmond city council to vote on deal

Although it looms as more or less of a done deal, the Washington Redskins' move to Richmond for training camp has not been universally well received, with "some (city) council members and residents (wanting) to put the brakes on the deal," according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Mayor Dwight C. Jones' plan will be put to the vote by the city council tonight. The agreement, the Times-Dispatch reports, awards a $6.4 million sponsorship with the Bon Secours Richmond Health System in exchange for a long-term lease on the campus of the former Westhampton School.

In June, the franchise announced that it would move its preseason summer training camp to Virginia's capital in time for the 2013 season.
