Hey Redskins fans, the 2017 NFL Draft is on it's way and the Burgundy and Gold have a lot of options on how they can use the 17th overall pick. In the weeks leading up to Draft Day we will be looking at multiple talented prospects who could become the next star in the Nation's Capital.

If there is one thing this draft is not short on, it is pass rushers. One that could be sitting there for the taking is UCLA's Takkarist "Takk" McKinley. The Bruins' edge rusher amassed 10 sacks, 61 tackles and 18 tackles for a loss during his All-Pac 12 senior season. He also used his athleticism to breakup six passes. McKinley uses his exceptional 4.59 speed, one of the fastest times among the this class's pass rushers, to cause mayhem in the backfield. In an interview with NFL Network he called himself the best pass rusher in the 2017 class.

Why This Pick Makes Sense:

While McKinley spent time lining up at defensive end at UCLA, he is an ideal fit at outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense like the Redskins'. Getting a bookend for Ryan Kerrigan will amp up the pass rush, especially with current outside linebacker Trent Murphy suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season.

He has also overcome a lot to get to this point in his career. Take a look a the video below.

Why The Redskins Might Pass:

There are questions about McKinley's skills being too raw to merit this high of a selection. The Redskins also have plenty of options at pass rusher in this draft making McKinley just one possibility.
