Nationals' Jayson Werth remains out of lineup
NEW YORK (AP/WJLA) - Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth remained sidelined Thursday evening after having received a cortisone injection for his sore right shoulder.
Washington manager Matt Williams says Werth has a sprained AC joint, but an MRI showed no structural damage.
Williams says Werth "should be good to go" after giving the shot time to take effect.
Werth, the NL player of the month for July, is batting .279 with 12 homers and 63 RBIs.
He had been playing through the injury for a little while before it worsened, causing him to miss Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's games against the New York Mets so far.
