Beacon House Falcons advance in Pop Warner Super Bowl

(WJLA) - A peewee football team from Northeast Washington has earned a spot in the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The Beacon House Falcons, a Division I Jr. Midget team, defeated the Temecula Grizzlies Wednesday 33-14 in the semifinals.{ }They will now take on the Liberty City Warriors of Florida on Saturday afternoon for the title.{ }

The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 at 1:30 p.m.

Beacon House was 9-0 during the regular season and went on to win the Eastern Regional title, which earned them a spot at Pop Warner.

This is the fourth year Beacon House has reached the Super Bowl. They won the title in 2010, but lost the following two years.{ }

Beacon House is a non-profit organization that provides programs to at-risk children who live in and around the Edgewood Terrace community in Ward 5.{ }

The team's players are ages 11 to 13.
