AU basketball moves game up one hour so Lehigh can beat snow

(WJLA) - This is not March Madness – it’s February Kindness. Well, to a degree.

“I guess they want to lose early,” joked Lehigh guard Mackie McKnight.

American University moved up Wednesday night’s game against rival Lehigh from 7:30 to 6:30 to help their foe beat the snow.

“The drive home is a little bit of a concern,” said Lehigh head coach Brett Reed.

The AU women’s team is at Lehigh tonight, and their game was moved up as well as they hope to be able to return home tonight.

“I hope they have a good bus driver,” said American head coach Mike Brennan.

The bus ride in good weather is about three-and-a-half hours – but tonight, who knows?

“I’m not worried about it. If I get to miss school, that’s a plus for me – I’m just kidding,” said McKnight.

So no overtime tonight? As Coach Reed put it: “If it means we win, we’ll take overtime. Any way that we have to get out of here with a win, we’ll take it.”
