2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse championship: Loyola defeats Maryland 9-3
The quest for a national championship in men's lacrosse came to an end for the Maryland Terrapins on Monday, losing 9-3 to the Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds 9-3 in the national title game in Foxborough, Mass.
Severna Park, Md. native Eric Lusby scored four times for the Greyhounds in the win, bringing home the Baltimore school's first men's lacrosse national championship.
Mike Chanenchuk, Jesse Bernhardt and Kevin Cooper all scored for Maryland, who finished the 2012 season 12-5.
Maryland defeated Lehigh, Johns Hopkins and Duke en route to to the title game.
