Senior night for GW's Cavanaugh and Hart

GW seniors Tyler Cavanaugh and Matt Hart will be honored before Saturday's game agasinst Dayton.

The college basketball careers of George Washington seniorsTyler Cavanaugh and Matt Hart are almost over. The GW seniors will be honored at the Smith Center before Saturday's game against Dayton.

"It's going to be emotional," said Cavanaugh.

Interim head coach Maurice Joseph has relied on his seniors maybe more than most during his first year running the ship for the Colonials.

"They're what I call the 'All-American kids'," said Joseph. "They're easy to coach, do what they're supposed to do on a nightly basis, and they give maxium effort."

The seniors served as mentors for a relatively young team, and Joseph even gives them credit for helping him improve.

"I became a much better coach," Joseph said. "Letting them dictate what needs to happen in practice and games and huddles during timeouts. They became better leaders, and I became a better coach."
