In case you missed it (which, if you've been in or around the National Mall over the past several months, you haven't), the Washington Monument is fully encased in scaffolding.
The project to repair the monument, which suffered significant damage in the August 2011 earthquake, will last through the end of the year. Scaffolding began going up around the monument in March.
On Friday, the Department of the Interior released a time lapse video, condensing the entire project into two minutes.
The National Park Service hopes to have the Washington Monument reopened next Spring.
If the time-lapse video above isn't enough and you need something a little more dizzying, check out this National Park Service video from the top of the monument.
