Northwest Washington beating suspects caught on video
(WJLA) - Detectives in the District are looking for the suspects behind a violent beating that happened in Northwest last Saturday.
MPD officials say the victim was beaten by several suspects in the 400 block of Lamont Street NW at about 7:20 p.m. Nov. 16.
The suspects then got away. Surveillance video shows a pair of suspects repeatedly kicking and punching the man while he lay on a sidewalk.
The commotion drew Jocelyn Wilson, a nearby resident of the neighborhood, to her window to see the assault happen
"It's really sad that people would do that," Wilson said. "That guy probably didn't do anything to anybody. He was probably just minding his own business."
The neighborhood where the assault happened has had its share of crime over the years, but like much of the city, residents say it's improving.
In their review of the video, detectives have determined that the suspects are older than those in most other recent assaults; they're believed to be in their 40s.
