The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Terry McAuliffe in Virginia's gubernatorial race, according to a report in Friday's Washington Post.
The Chamber also endorsed Democrats in two other top races in Virginia, including state Sen. Ralph S. Northam for lieutenant governor and state Sen. Mark R. Herring for attorney general. In endorsing McAuliffe, the Chamber of Commerce said it preferred the Democrat because of his support for current Governor Bob McDonnell's transportation funding package, which Cuccinelli opposed.
The endorsement came Thursday night, a day after the two candidates locked horns in a televised debate sponsored by the Fairfax Chamber.
