(WJLA) - It is an undeniably dramatic statement that many voters not only find President Obama to be a bad president, but the single worst since WWII.
According to a Quinnipiac poll released on Wednesday, Obama tops the list of worst presidents since 1945 at 33-percent, with George W. Bush in second at 28-percent – followed by Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter.
The poll also finds that the president’s overall job performance numbers are in very bad shape, with just 40-percent approval and 53-percent disapproval. Meanwhile, 54-percent say the Obama administration is not competent at running the government.
"They may not have a specific policy in mind, but they want things to be better than they are now, and the person who is in charge will get the blame for that," explains Jedd Rosche with POLITICO.
Rosche says that a succession of bad news is hurting the president – from the rapidly growing instability in Iraq to a recent spike in immigration-related incidents at the border to a less-than-robust economic recovery.
"There is something about the timing in all of this where it seems like all of these issues are happening at once; I think those are what are really pulling down the president's numbers."
