Papal merchandise: T-shirts, cologne, coffee mugs all offered

If you want to see real papal memorabilia, the Blessed John Paul 2 Shrine is the place to be. They display actual clothing, shoes and watches worn by popes as well as rosaries.

But you can only look or take home a few small items with the likeness of previous popes.

At the Basilica gift shop, business started picking up as soon as now pope emeritus Benedict announced his resignation.

“People are just very interested in everything that he's done for the church,” says Amy Maloney, Basilica gift shop manager.

Customers are buying everything from pope statues to pope cologne. But if you're looking for Pope Francis merchandise, you'll need to wait one more day. There's a shipment on the way to the Basilica right now.

The supplier in Ohio to give you a sneak peek at what you'll find. There’s everything from framed images and matted prints to coffee mugs, refrigerator magnets and Holy cards.

Around the world, online entrepreneurs are already pushing everything from e-books to iPhone cases and novelty T-shirts.

The Basilica will receive its shipment of items bearing the likeness of Pope Francis Friday and will have those items available for sale. The John Paul 2 Shrine, which is just down the road, is preparing a special conclave exhibit which will open on April 13th.
