Israeli government pulls anti-expat ads (Watch)
A recent ad campaign by the Israeli government suggesting American Jews are at risk for losing their religious and cultural identity incited criticism from the American-Jewish community and has since been quashed.
The ads, paid for by the Israeli government, suggest American Jews are not good enough as partners for Israeli citizens.
In one ad, an Israeli couple asks their granddaughter in America what holiday it is. She answers Christmas. In another, an American boyfriend sees his Israeli girlfriend honoring Israel's memorial day and mistakes her candles for romantic lighting.
The Jewish Federation of North America called the ads’ message “outrageous and insulting.”
