George Zimmerman seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth after he was acquitted last Saturday in the murder of Trayvon Martin.

He reemergered last week to save someone from a car wreck though, authorities tell ABC News.

A Sanford Police spokesman says that Zimmerman came upon a truck that had turned over on Interstate 4 last week. Police then say Zimmerman helped rescue a person who was trapped inside the vehicle.

Zimmerman had not been heard from or seen since July 13, when a six-person jury found him not guilty of both second-degree murder and manslaughter in the February 2012 shooting death of Martin, 17.
