Consumer Alert: Goodwill deals on electronics

(WJLA) - When you think of Goodwill, computers aren’t the first thing to come to mind. But you might be able to find a good deal on one at a place like the Arlington Glebe Road location – because everything for sale was once a donation.

According to some, the economy has caused people to shop at low costs and various discount retail stores -- like Goodwill and other thrift stores.

Here’s what you can find at much cheaper prices: cables, plugs, and an entire shelf of routers; there are also keyboards from several different brands, flat-screen monitors, and even printers with scanners.

One person donated a printer in good shape with a stack of paper still inside. And the prices aren’t bad at all.

"$4.95, $2.95 for a Dell keyboard? The parts work, all the accessories work, so if anyone is just looking for functional accessories, it's a great place to come look and shop," said Brendan Hurley.

Look at this deal we found – an HP Photosmart Premium Printer for $29.95. And every day, there seems to be something new.

Here are the recent bins full of items that have just been dropped off; as people begin their spring cleaning and stores receive dozens of new items a day.
