Chicago earthquake confirmed as magnitude 3.7 temblor

(WJLA) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 shook Chicago Monday afternoon.

The USGS reports that the earthquake's epicenter was near the town of Naperville and struck at about 12:35 p.m. local time.

On its website, the USGS classified the quake as a "quarry blast."

WLS reports that Chicago and its numerous suburbs felt "light to moderate shaking" in the temblor.
