(WJLA) - A special gesture by passengers on an American Airlines flight earlier this week made sure that a group of United States Marines got home in style.
ABC News reports that a group of 13 Marines were flying from Afghanistan to San Diego for five days of leave when they arrived at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport for a layover.
It's typically American Airlines' policy to upgrade any active military member when possible, but for this specific flight, only six first class seats were available. That's when they asked passengers if they'd be willing to sit elsewhere to make room for the servicemembers.
Seven passengers immediately stepped forward to give up their seats, making sure that the Marines could be taken care of.
