AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Flooding has prompted evacuations and high-water rescues in Central Texas.
The National Weather Service has issued flash flooding warnings for nine counties in Central Texas.
Emergency officials say they've had to rescue people clinging to trees or wading through high water.
Some homes in San Marcos are being evacuated, as well as along a creek in Wimberley, where an emergency shelter has been set up.
Classes in at least three school districts are opening later than usual this morning.
Officials say they don't have word of any injuries.
