A Libyan militia leader has become the first person to be charged in connection with last September's deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, CNN reports.

Nearly 11 months after the attack, which killed four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens, CNN says that federal prosecutors have charged Ahmed Khatallah for his role in the attack.

Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were all killed in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack and several others were injured.

More to come.
