(ABC News) - The woman who became the face of the Healthcare.gov homepage is speaking out. Her name is Adriana, and she says she wants people to know that she is not a model and was not paid for the photo used on the website.
She's also not a U.S. citizen, but is eligible to apply for health care under her permanent residency status. She's from Columbia.
Since the website launched, Adriana says she's been the butt of jokes on television shows and even bullied by people who are unhappy with the Obamacare rollout. She was also dubbed "glitch girl".
"We signed the release that it was supposed to be for material for promoting the healthcare," explained Adriana. "We just didn't know that it was going to have a negative impact."
Her photo was removed from the website two weeks ago. Adriana says she's ready to move on from all the negativity.
