ABC News: Bin Laden was plotting to kill President Obama, Petraeus

Nearly three months after Osama bin Laden was killed, ABC News has uncovered frightening information about his planned future attacks on America.

The latest information included a plot to assassinate President Obama.

The plot also included an attack on the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

ABC News is reporting bin Laden was trying to assemble a team to strike America again.

Bin Laden remained intent on another 9/11 attack right up to his dying day.

The plot was only in the discussion stage when Navy Seals killed bin Laden inside his Pakistan compound.

Intelligence officials told ABC News bin Laden was obsessed with using aircraft to kill, wanting to try to fly a small plane into a sporting event to hurt as many people as possible.

Recovered in the raid that killed him was bin Laden's hit list. Target number one was President Obama, who he'd kill by shooting down Air Force One or Marine One.

The al-Qaeda leader also hoped to kill General David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan and soon to be CIA Director, the same way, shooting down his helicopter or plane with a missle or rocket propelled grenade.

Also coming out of the treasure trove of intelligence on the thumb drives taken from his compound, investigators are learning more about the travels of bin Laden's couriers.
